[FAQ-1318] Not receiving radio traffic

OVERVIEW

If you are not receiving radio traffic, there are some specific controls to check in the player (to see if you have filtered out all transmissions), you can try restarting the player, and you can check to see if the radios are currently operational.


METHOD

When the Rangecast player is caught up in time if there is no activity in your area the player will stay quiet as it has nothing to "play." Additionally consider these issues below:

1) What is the minimum transmission time control set to? It should typically be at 3+ seconds or less. If it's set too high you'll miss all the short transmissions making it appear very quiet.

2) Check the View that you're on. If you've narrowed your player down to a small county view for example, try going back to All Channels view at the top.

3) Check that you have not turned most of the channels off in your View. If you are using the Player View that does not show channels (the Diamond icon-Mobile Basic Player View), switch to the Mobile Channel Grid View by selecting the broadcast tower icon at the top of the page. You can press the "all on" icon above the list of channel in the Channels Panel to turn all the channels on. You can also select the "All Channels" view by selecting the top option under the Views drop-down menu.

4) You can try restarting your web browser (similar action to "the player screen appears to be frozen") to see if that clears the issue.

If the Rangecast player appears to freeze, try closing and relaunching the player. If this occurs frequently, please provide some technical information about the issue.




5) You can check the status of the radios providing audio, with a special report inside the player.

The Rangecast Player includes a report listing all radios providing audio content on the specific channels currently selected for reception. If there are any known technical problems with these feeds, the problem is identified, and FAQ links provided to help with resolution.
