[FAQ-1200] Applying signal survey results

Signal surveys provide a way to determine reception patterns in a region (which receive sites are good for which radio broadcast signals, and for trunked systems, which towers carry which talkgroups.) This is an overview of the steps for applying survey results to improve Rangecast performance.

[FAQ-1231] Interpreting control channel signal strength and quality chart

For each measurement of the signal strength and quality of a trunked system control channel, the Rangecast survey presents a graphical chart for easy interpretation. This report summarizes the interpretation of this chart.

[FAQ-1313] Interpreting talkgroup survey results

A talkgroup survey is one portion of the Rangecast signal survey, measuring the consistency of reception of each talkgroup as received through each possible radio configuration of receive site and broadcast tower.

[FAQ-1257] Site 00 - Survey Only

Site 00 named "Survey Only" is a reserved pseudo-feedsite that does not correspond to any radio. Channels can be assigned to site 00 if you want them included in signal surveys, but not programmed into any radios for actual reception, and not included in the player.
