Suppose you are monitoring lots of channels, and buffered playback of simultaneous transmissions has made your "time bar" slip a few minutes into the past. What happens if something is received from a channel of special importance to you? Many users monitor a few critical channels, and want immediate notification of activity on those priority channels. You don't want to wait a few minutes to finish catching up on other signals waiting in the queue for playback on your computer, you want to know about the priority traffic right now.
With Rangecast, you can put selected channels into a "priority mode" (shown in blue). A second "time bar" will be presented - a blue time bar for priority channels, and a green time bar for standard channels. Any transmission on a priority channel will be played first, and only if there are none pending will the Rangecast player select transmissions for playback from the standard channels.
Even better, when the priority transmission is complete, the player will resume playing from the standard queue right where it left off - you won't miss anything.
