The black interface box is a Rangecast hardware unit for connecting up to four scanners to a PC through USB. On the PC side, the interface box has two USB cables, which must both be connected to the PC. For each scanner, two cables from the interface box must be attached -- one cable for data connectivity, and one cable for audio.
